About the Artist - Jenny Matthews
Jenny Mathews is a visual artist from Rockford. She’s been making art since she could hold a pencil. Starting out drawing on the walls and in her own picture books as a kid led her to an illustration career later in life and then right back into making art on walls, doing murals in Rockford and neighboring cities. Her work revolves around common myths, legends, and archetypes, exploring these common threads to remind us of the shared human experience. She volunteers at the Rockford Art Museum, the Boys and Girls Club of Rockford and Rockford Rage Roller Derby.
